New Delhi: Nishad Kumar and Simran Sharma bagged their maiden gold medals at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 on Friday. By virtue of these two coveted medals, India have climbed to the fourth spot in the list with four medals on October 3.

While Nishad won by equalling his PB in Men’s T47 High Jump with an incredible jump of 2.14m, Simran bagged the gold with her guide runner with a PB of 11.95 sec in Women’s 100m T12. This proved to be the most productive day for India thus far. Earlier, Preethi Pal and Pardeep Kumar added a bronze each in the 200m and discus throw respectively, swelling India’s tally and pushing the hosts three places up from seventh.
