SHREVEPORT, La. -- A pedestrian hit and killed by the driver of a SUV as he walked on a west Shreveport street late Thursday has been identified by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Johnny Ray Anthony, 63, was struck by an SUV on Broadway Avenue near Theo Street south of Interstate 20 around 7 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:19 p.m.

The death remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.

An autopsy was ordered.
