OTSEGO, MI –– With the tireless amount of work she was putting in and the all-in commitment she made to golf, Annika Quakenbush couldn’t help but feel discouraged from her results.
But as they say, hard work eventually pays off.
After battling through some mid-season frustrations, the rising Otsego golf phenom’s persistence has prevailed –– with Quakenbush carding a first place 78 score at the Wolverine Conference Championships on Wednesday, leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back Wolverine Conference championships.
The junior’s six-over round beat out Plainwell’s Ayla Jaeger by one stroke, using a red-hot one-over 37 on the back nine that featured one birdie and six pars to claim victory.
