A Missouri mother has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her 16-year-old son

Police alleged Krista Roy, 47, shot and then stabbed her son Carter Bennett to death on Monday at her home in St. Charles County

Roy was also reportedly taken to a local hospital on Monday for allegedly attempting to commit suicide following the alleged incident

When Carter Bennett’s friends hadn’t heard from the 16-year-old Missouri teenager in days, they knew something “highly unusual” was up.
