A fire that broke out at a Chevron refinery in El Segundo on Oct. 2 is leaving some Southern Californians concerned about its impact on the air quality.

The El Segundo Fire Department responded to a fire at 9:32 p.m. on Oct. 2. The fire originated at a process unit at the southeast corner of the refinery, according to El Segundo fire officials. As of approximately 8 a.m. on Oct. 3, the fire was still burning but contained, according to an update from Manhattan Beach, a city neighboring El Segundo to the south.

All refinery personnel and contractors were accounted for, and there are no injuries, Chevron said in a statement online .
