DENVER (KDVR) -- A Great Horned Owl stuck in a barbed wire fence with an apparent broken wing was rescued and is now receiving treatment and rehabilitation.
On Wednesday morning, a person reported seeing an owl stuck in a fence near Morrison Road and Bear Creek Boulevard, so the Lakewood Police Department said its animal control and the city's park rangers came to the rescue.
"This little guy had a rather scary start to his morning today," police said.
The city said that rangers, "with patience and care," were able to cut her free from the barbed wire and put her in a carrier. • A Great Horned Owl stuck in a barbed wire fence in Lakewood was rescued on Oct. 1 and is now being treated for a broken wing. • A Great Horned Owl stuck in a barbed wire fence in Lakewood was rescued on Oct.
