Three girls who surrounded a 75-year-old man before he was shoved, kicked and punched, and then died the following a day, have been detained.

Fredi Rivero, a Bolivian national, was near a bus stop in north London when the girls got off and surrounded him.

They walked away but later returned, and shoved, kicked and punched him - while one of them recorded the attack on their phone.

The three girls, who were aged 17, 16 and 14 at the time of the crime and cannot be named because of their age, pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

At the Old Bailey on Friday, Judge Judy Khan KC sentenced the girls to four years, three-and-a-half years and two-and-a-half years' detention respectively.
