CLEARWATER, Fla. — The family of Hulk Hogan is looking to file a medical malpractice lawsuit on behalf of the WWE legend, who died in July , according to Pinellas County court records.

Documents filed Tuesday show that Nicholas Bollea and Melanie Sky Daily Bollea, Hogan's son and wife, requested a 90-day extension of the statute of limitations for the investigation of a medical malpractice lawsuit.

While a medical malpractice lawsuit has not yet been filed, this request indicates that the Bollea family is exploring medical malpractice action against:

Morton Plant Hospital

Thomas Roush, M.D., a spine surgeon based in Lake Worth
