Blades defeat Wild in Stobbs Division

The Blenheim Blades are on a two-game winning streak after beating the Walpole Island Wild 5-1 Thursday in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Stobbs Division.

Logan Bell, Andrew Goulet, Stefan Jacobs, Landon Copeland and Brenden McKay scored for the Blades (4-2-0-0) before 150 at the Walpole Island Sports Complex. Winning goalie Russell Vaughan made 14 saves.

Cayden Storey scored and Nicholas Jeranian made 52 saves for the Wild (1-8-0-0).

The Wild host the Essex 73’s Saturday at 4 p.m. at Walpole Island. The Blades host the Dresden Kings Sunday at 7 p.m. at Blenheim Memorial Arena.

Parker leads Wild to first victory

Reece Parker had a 44-save shutout in the Walpole Island Wild’s 2-0 win over the Wheatley Omstead Sharks Wednesday in the PJHL.
