GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A weeks-long investigation into alleged bomb threats in Gibson County has ended with an arrest.
Raymond Gossett, 67, of Washington, was arrested Thursday and charged with Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon.
Deputies say the investigation began in mid-September after a local car dealership received threatening and misleading emails from an encrypted email service based outside of the country.
According to the sheriff’s office, these emails claimed four kilos of cocaine were inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee at the dealership at one point.
Deputies say later emails suggested that there were explosives inside the Jeep as well.
Many of these emails were also sent to law enforcement agencies and 14 News.
