STANDISH, MI – Standish-Sterling subscribes to the Ben Briggs Theorem.

When Briggs is part of the equation, good things are the result.

With talents that are variable from baseball to soccer and beyond, he’s an integral part of the Standish-Sterling sports scene.

“I have the privilege of being his coach and AP Calculus teacher,” Standish soccer coach Doug Dahn said. “And Ben is the type of kid who inspires you to work harder as a coach and teacher due to his great attitude and effort.”

After helping the Panthers to a historic run in soccer, Briggs was voted MLive Bay City Athlete of the Week. He garnered 49.6 percent of the 10,831 votes cast in the online poll, edging runner-up Gabby Carter of the Essexville Garber girls swimming team.
