A "DRUG addled fool" who told a bank teller, "I'm going to kill you" has been jailed by a magistrate.

Lucas Markovina, 37, appeared before Armidale Local Court where he pleaded guilty to a charge of stalking and intimidation with the intention of causing fear and harm.

According to a police statement tendered to court, Markovina walked into the Commonwealth Bank in Dangar Street, Armidale, at about 2pm on May 8.

"[Markovina] spoke to the teller about withdrawing funds from his account and was asked for identification, but he could only provide a Medicare card," police claimed.

Once he was identified, the teller told Markovina he would not be issued with cash on the day but would be provided with a bank cheque in his name through the post.
