Chloe Del Real has earned the opportunity of a lifetime.
The El Pasoan will compete for Mexico in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
This year marks the ninth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the first to feature 24 teams. Now an annual event, the tournament kicks off on Oct 18 and runs Nov. 8. There will be six groups of four and Mexico is in Group B and plays first against North Korea on Oct. 18.
"I can't wait, it'll be my first opportunity to play in a World Cup," Del Real said. "It will be another learning experience for our team and for myself."
Del Real would have been a senior this past season at Eastlake High School, but chose to play for Mexico in several international friendlies and tournaments.
