McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen City Commissioner Rodolfo “Rudy” Castillo surrendered to Homeland Security Investigations on Friday after being charged with money laundering and smuggling goods from the United States.
Rodolfo Castillo, 55, of McAllen surrendered to Homeland Security Investigations, which is part of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, on Friday morning.
“This may, conceivably, end up going to trial,” said attorney Rick Salinas of Mission, who represents Castillo. “Because what’s in the complaint is a little bit troubling.”
Homeland Security Investigations searched Castillo’s house and his business, Oro Ropa Usada, on Thursday.
