Perth Amboy officials have extended the deadline for “innovative” development proposals to transform a 9-acre tract at a prominent entry point to the city.
The Perth Amboy Redevelopment Agency is seeking mixed-use development and parking proposals that include entertainment or hospitality elements for the parcel at Smith Street and Convery Boulevard.
The site serves as a key gateway for motorists entering the city via the Victory Bridge, which carries traffic on Route 35 over the Raritan River.
Development submissions were originally due by Oct. 15, but the deadline has been extended to Dec. 12.
