Him is a sports film, a football film, but one that owes more to David Lynch's Lost Highway or Ari Aster's Midsommar than to Any Given Sunday or Friday Night Lights .

The film is written and directed by Justin Tipping, but with his producer Jordan Peele's much more off-kilter horror-brand name splashed much more prominently on the posters.

And it certainly does sit well alongside Peele's Nope , Us and Get Out , and in fact goes a little more magic realism than even Peele.
