COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Richard Hennie, the crossing guard at Fox Elementary in the Muscogee County School District, takes great pride in his job.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the street corners near Fox Elementary, Hennie says parents can trust him with their young ones.

"You don't have to worry about your child once your child gets to this corner, because your child becomes my child," Hennie said. "We're going to cross the street safely and you know nothing's going to happen to your child."

Attention has come to Hennie recently, as one parent in the community gave him a shout out that has gained nearly 200 likes.

Hennie credits much of his positive attitude to his faith.
