Friday around 5 p.m., Tour de Rock cyclists will make their final pedal strokes, wrapping up the cancer research fundraising ride, after clocking 1,200 kilometres North to South of Vancouver Island.
With a fundraising goal of $1 million dollars for pediatric cancer research, as as of Friday morning, the ride has raised close to $680,000, according to the TDR website with the Canadian Cancer Society.
“Tour de Rock remains determined to continue supporting children and families living with and beyond cancer,” states the TDR website.
“Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society through Cops for Cancer are used to fund life-saving pediatric cancer research and caring support programs like Camp Goodtimes.”
The ride kicked off in Port Alice on Sept. 21, and is set to wrap at the B.C. legis
