Felony assault and hate crime charges have been filed in an August parking lot brawl that involved a group of teens in Simi Valley .

Five teens were charged in connection with the Aug. 1 assault in a movie theater parking lot in the Ventura County community. Two of the teens also were charged in a May 30 attack in the same parking lot.

Video of the parking lot altercation appeared to show a group of young men attacked outside the movie theater. At the time of the arrests in August, authorities said they were investigating reports of racial slurs used during the attack.
