SOUTHPORT, N.C. — The City of Southport has released the names of six people injured in a mass shooting that left three people dead at the American Fish Company on Sept. 27.
Authorities said Nigel Max Edge, 40, of Oak Island, opened fire from a boat along the waterfront, killing three and wounding six others. Police described the attack as “highly premeditated.” Edge was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. His next court appearance is set for Oct. 13.
The six injured victims, who have since been released from the hospital, are:
Jackson Schurtz, 38, of Afton, Va.
William Parent, 64, of Oak Island, N.C.
John Barlow, 63, of Amityville, N.Y.
Lauren Buscher, 54, of Wheaton, Ill.
