LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A main stretch of Bardstown Road in the Highlands will be closed to traffic during one Sunday this October.

CycLOUvania is returning to Louisville on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Bardstown Road will be closed to traffic from Grinstead Drive to Douglass Boulevard.

The goal of the closure is to create a "safe and festive space for the community to walk, bike, run, roll and stroll," according to the mayor's office.

“CycLOUvia showcases the best of Louisville: neighbors coming together, families enjoying safe and active streets, and businesses welcoming new visitors,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg. “Events like this are helping us create a safer, stronger, and healthier city for everyone. I invite everyone to come out and enjoy Bardstown Road in a new way.”
