Final Destination Bloodlines was stuffed full of surprises, giving us a backstory on Death’s carefully plotted trail of destruction throughout the horror series while busting out some of the most gruesome kills ever to grace the screen. But the biggest surprise of all was its towering box-office success—not bad for a part six—until an even bigger one arrived: news that what felt like a definitive finale would be getting another sequel after all.

Such is the way of horror franchises. And today, we know who’ll be helming Final Destination 7 , after (surprise, again!) Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein decided not to tackle the follow-up.
