ST. JOSEPH, Ill. (WCIA) -- Multiple Champaign County firefighting agencies are actively responding to a large field fire near St. Joseph.

The fire is happening near the intersections of County Roads 1700 N and 2100 E. The fire departments and fire protection districts of St. Joseph, Edge-Scott, Gifford, Homer, Ogden-Royal and Thomasboro are among those who responded Friday afternoon.

WCIA has reached out to the St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District to learn more about the fire but did not hear back immediately.
