FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced that his office's Violent Crime Reduction Team has secured a conviction and two new felony indictments in Jefferson County.
That's according to a news release from the attorney general's office.
Cody Cahill, 35, pleaded guilty in Jefferson Circuit Court to possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, a Class C felony, on Sept. 30. He was arrested after police found him with a handgun in the parking lot of an unlocked storage facility during a security check, according to the release.
Cahill, who has prior felony convictions, is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 17. He faces five years in prison.
The case was investigated by the St. Matthews Police Department.
