Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), the most common endocrine disorder among Indian women, can lead to serious health complications including heart disease, infertility, certain cancers, and psychiatric issues if not diagnosed and managed in time, said Dr. M. Ashraf Ganie, Director of SKIMS Soura, while reflecting on awareness initiatives held in September, observed globally as PCOS Awareness Month.
Throughout September, SKIMS Srinagar, in collaboration with the Metabolic Syndrome, Pre-diabetes and PCOS (MP-PCOS) Society under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan , conducted extensive awareness campaigns across the Valley to educate the public, support affected individuals, and advocate for timely diagnosis and care.
