Former New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown has a chance to make his NFL return in Week 5 for his first game in over one year.

The Houston Texans signed Brown to their active roster on Friday, two days ahead of the group’s tilt against the Baltimore Ravens.

“Texans are signing veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown from their practice squad to their active roster, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted on X.

The 32-year-old spent the first three seasons of his career from 2015-17 with the San Francisco 49ers, before being traded to New England in April 2018.

Brown was part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII-champion team that defeated the Los Angeles Rams before signing a four-year, $66 million contract with the then-Oakland Raiders in March 2019. He played
