Middleton earned a 26-12 upset win Thursday over previously-perfect Timberline . The Vikings' fourth victory upended the Wolves' hopes of reaching 6-0 for the first time in program history.

5A Southern Idaho Conference action opened with Bishop Kelly and Columbia claiming home wins over Skyview and Emmett, respectively. The league race ramps up as Ridgevue and Vallivue collide at 7 p.m. Friday.

Fruitland and Homedale sit atop the 4A Snake River Valley Conference entering Week 6 matchups with Payette and Weiser. Fellow unbeaten Carey continues its pursuit of back-to-back state titles against Rockland.
