NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department is touting the reduction of violent crime in the city over the first nine months of 2025.

MNPD said that, compared to 2024, crime in Nashville is substantially down.

Below is a look at some of the key stats shared by the department for the first three quarters of 2025:

Homicides down nearly 30%

Rape down more than 6%

Robberies down nearly 27%

MNPD said that violent crime, fatal and non-fatal shootings, are the lowest since at least 2019 when comparing January through August stats.
