ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A longtime Roanoke County School Board member is facing a criminal charge just weeks before Election Day.
Tim Greenway, who represents the Vinton District, has been charged with an election-related misdemeanor, according to court records.
The case stems from paperwork Greenway submitted earlier this year to get his name on the ballot. Candidates are required to collect voter signatures and file them with sworn affidavits. The county registrar flagged problems with Greenway’s petitions, including affidavits that were not filled out correctly and some duplicate signatures.
Greenway later corrected the issues, resubmitted his forms, and was approved for the ballot.
His attorney has called the errors unintentional, saying in a statement that Greenway “has taken comple
