YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - In July, WKBN reported neighbors' frustration with the lack of cleanup at the McGuffey Mall site. Now, the site is seeing its first visual change in months.
"That's all we want. Just clean it up. Make it look presentable. The East Side is like a sore thumb," said Darrell Jones, a local resident.
People living on the East side have shown their frustration with the McGuffey Mall site for years. The Western Reserve Port Authority acquired the 23-acre plot in 2022, but since then, neighbors say nothing much has changed.
"The community wants answers. This has been like this for years now, and it seems to be getting no better," Jones said.
