BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man has been found not guilty of a firearm charge in connection with the death of a Western Kentucky University student.
According to court records, 32-year-old Malik Jones appeared before a jury in Warren County on Thursday, Oct. 2.
Court records state the jury filed a not guilty verdict for a charge of a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
The charge originally resulted in connection with the death of 21-year-old WKU student Ayanna Morgan, who died in July 2023 after authorities say she was assaulted at the Muse apartments.
Malik Jones, along with two other men facing charges connected to this case, Malcolm Jones and Kobee Lancaster, will appear in court on Oct. 14.
Malik and Malcolm Jones will appear that day for a pre-trial conference,
