Apprentice wins by forfeit via cancellation

Apprentice School won Saturday’s game by forfeit because its scheduled nonconference opponent, South Georgia Athletics, canceled its trip to Newport News late Thursday afternoon.

The Builders (2-3, 1-0 New South Athletic Conference) are scheduled to return to action Oct. 11 against Lighthouse Christian in a conference game in Dahlonega, Georgia, and next will play at home Oct. 18 versus Keystone.

Hall of Fame induction ceremonies scheduled for Saturday still will be held. But the booster-club social scheduled for Saturday will be moved to Oct. 18, and all prepurchased tickets for Saturday will be transferred to the Oct. 18 Senior Day game as well.
