With picket lines in the tea leaves for next Monday, talks resumed Friday between the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) and the Government of Alberta.

The two parties “have resumed exploratory conversations with regard to reaching a negotiated settlement,” states a Friday notice from the ATA.

The provincewide strike which has yet to be averted will include principals, vice-principals and administrators after a large majority of the ATA voted last weekend to reject a memorandum of understanding (MOU) from the province.
