PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Paducah police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on October 1, 2025, on the 3400 block of Minnich Avenue, just after 4:30 p.m.
Police said a male juvenile initially claimed he was assaulted by two suspects who stole his cell phone and pointed a handgun at him.
Officers later found two juvenile suspects matching the description on the 2700 block of Harrison Street. Police reported they recovered the victim's cell phone and student identification card.
Near the suspects, police also said they found a black .40 caliber handgun in some nearby bushes. Both suspects were taken into custody and taken to the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Facility.
As the investigation continued, police said their detectives discovered the initial report was false.
