ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- In the wake of recent comments by an Albemarle County School Board member's comments about a student-run club, school leaders posted a statement online Friday to reaffirm their mission and vision and also clarify some issues.

Allison Spillman touched off a controversy earlier this week when she posted to Facebook regarding her opposition to a scheduled talk hosted by the school's Turning Point USA chapter, comparing it to the Ku Klux Klan.
