There is no shortage of huge high school football games across the state tonight.

A pair of huge Class 7A games could help shape the playoff races in both Region 2 and Region 3. In Birmingham, reigning champ Thompson travels to new No. 1 Hewitt-Trussville. In Auburn, the Tigers host former No. 1 Central-Phenix City in a key Region 2 rivalry.

Meanwhile, the 4A playoff race will come into focus when Philip Rivers takes his No. 2 ranked St. Michael team to play Alabama RB commit EJ Crowell and No. 1 Jackson at Legion Field, while No. 7 Madison Academy visits No. 9 North Jackson.
