Rite Aid has closed all its stores across the United States following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The company initially filed for bankruptcy in October 2023 and again in May 2025 when they announced the nationwide store closures.

CEO Matt Schroeder said the company had experienced significant financial hardships including a rapidly evolving health and retail environment.

Former Rite Aid customers can visit the company's website to request all of their records and transfer prescriptions to another pharmacy.
