(NewsNation) — Fans of “Peaky Blinders” are in for a treat, as Netflix and BBC announced that there will be a sequel series to the show.

Original “Peaky Blinders” star Cillian Murphy is serving as an executive producer for the show, alongside Steven Knight, the series’ creator.

"I'm thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the 'Peaky Blinders' story," Knight said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

"Once again, it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride."

Netflix and the BBC also announced the new show has already been greenlit for two seasons.
