I’m not going on a boat anytime soon, but my shoes are about to tell a different story thanks to Mindy Kaling .

Earlier this week, I spotted the Never Have I Ever co-creator, 46, wearing a pair of preppy black boat shoes in a few of her recent Instagram photos . Funnily enough, she, too, was not wearing them on a pontoon or yacht, but in the middle of Central Park for what looked like a walk in nature. Her exact lace-up pair costs a steep $625 from designer Jamie Haller.

I haven’t owned a pair of boat shoes since high school. But the PEOPLE team recently tested a pair and crowned it one of our favorite slip-on shoe styles , so I’m taking this as my sign to get on board before the tides turn.
