TAMPA, Fla. - An arrest has been made after two people were shot and killed on Friday morning in Tampa .

What we know:

Tampa police say that 59-year-old Louis Jules was taken into custody less than eight hours after the incident.

It happened around 11 a.m. in the 8500 block of El Portal Drive.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers went to the scene to investigate reports of two people shot, and found a man and a woman dead. Jules left the scene after the shooting.

Chief Lee Bercaw says that these crimes will be tolerated and those responsible will be prosecuted.
