SIDNEY — Polson sophomore Max Milton didn't know what going through a state tournament was like last year.

But after experiencing it and claiming an individual state crown at the end of 36 holes, he knows how to deal with pressure of state.

It showed Friday. Milton fired a 3-under 69 with one eagle (par-5, No. 4 hole), four birdies, 12 pars and one triple bogey (par-5, No. 6 hole) on the par-72, 6,523-yard layout at Sidney Country Club for the lowest boys or girls score of the first day of the Class A state tournament in Sidney.
