A coroner's inquest to look into the circumstances surrounding the 2023 deaths of a Prince Rupert family has been postponed.
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General had scheduled the inquest at the Burnaby Coroner's Court starting Oct. 6 to look into the deaths of Janet Nguyen, Christopher Duong, and Alexander and Harlan Duong.
However, due to ongoing job action by the British Columbia General Employees' Union (BCGEU) and Professional Employees Association, the inquest has been tentatively rescheduled to start on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
"Inquests are important to families, communities and the public, and understanding during this period of disruption is appreciated," the ministry stated.
The family of four was found dead in their Prince Rupert home on Silverside Drive on June 13,
