PORTLAND, Ore. — Beaverton police have asked the public for help to find two men who have been missing since taking an outdoor trip in mid-September.

It's believed that Eddie Hair, 67, and Scott Smith, 68, were preparing for an outdoor trip involving camping, hiking or searching for rare rocks, according to Beaverton police. The two friends often travel to either the Oregon Coast or central coast.

A close family friend reported Hair and Smith missing after they didn't return from their trip and couldn't be contacted.

The men were last known to be traveling in a 2005 red Jeep Wrangler with Oregon state license plate No. 494 QKW

There's no indication of "foul play" at this time, Beaverton police said.
