Tully, N.Y. - Firefighters battled a large brush fire in the town of Tully for hours Friday night.

The Tully Fire Department was called to the scene at 5:54 p.m. Otisco Fire Department was also on the scene.

Multiple calls have gone out throughout the evening for any available units to respond to the scene.

Firefighters on the scene said someone had been clearing trees and burning the wood when the fire started.

The fire is at the very end of Hollenbeck Road in a rural area west of the village of Tully. A single-lane gravel road winds up through the hills in a deep forest and only one vehicle can get through at a time.

Additionally, there is not much easily accessible water which means firefighters have been forced to send their trucks to nearby fire hydrants to get water.
