MADISON (WKOW) -- Eight Wisconsin representatives have introduced a bill to prohibit the use of absentee ballot drop boxes.

In 2024, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that absentee ballots can be sealed and mailed in or delivered in person, and that ruling also authorizes the use of absentee ballot drop boxes.

The bill would ban the use of absentee ballot drop boxes in all elections in the state of Wisconsin.

The group of Republicans says ballot drop boxes do not reassure voters that elections are secure.
