KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Pat Summitt’s legacy is taking on a new life, not on the basketball court, but on stage.
Playwright and actress Lisa Soland has created " Pat ," a one-woman show about the legendary University of Tennessee coach. The play explores Summitt’s resilience, humor and humility while reflecting on the values that shaped her life and career.
Soland said she spent six years researching and writing the play before bringing it to the stage in Knoxville. She described the project as one that has changed her personally, adding that Summitt’s story offers lessons that extend well beyond basketball.
“She didn’t want to be looked up to like a goddess,” Soland said. “She wanted you to realize the greatness within you.”
Director Melanie Ewbank said the show captures a side of Summi
