The results for a city council race in Andalusia remained the same after a recount.

Officials with the City of Andalusia said a recount of the September 23 municipal runoff election in Council District 4 Friday yielded the same results.

The recount came after challenger Greg Palmer asked for it after the city council broke the tie in favor of incumbent Presley Boswell.

The city council had the deciding vote after the one provisional ballot cast was deemed to be illegible to vote in that district, which kept the votes at 183-183.

Immediately following the council’s decision, Palmer notified city officials in writing that he was calling for a recount, and also asked to inspect the sign-in sheets of those who cast absentee ballots and who voted. He also presented $10,000 in cash to cover
