A 15-year-old Oklahoma girl who went missing over a year ago is now safe, authorities say.

The case has uncovered a disturbing network of exploitation. While one man is in custody, investigators believe at least 20 others were involved. Officials in Georgia have described the operation as a “sex trafficking empire.”

30-year-old Iven Dwane Richardson of Alabama is facing multiple charges.

Captain Gene Harley of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said: “Tragically, during that time she was sexually exploited not just by Mr. Richardson but 20 or more individuals who paid for acts with this minor child.”

Investigators tracked the girl after receiving a tip from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, which led them to a hotel room in Georgia.
