A long-running hotel and wedding venue that residents “feared would be knocked down” is being brought back to life.
Thousands of people have got married at the Little Silver Country Hotel, near Tenterden, over the decades - but it suddenly closed in February after plunging into administration.
It left many couples devastated and scrambling for a last-minute new venue to get wed - and sparked fears the building itself could be flattened.
But entrepreneur Terence Haigh snapped up the well-known site, just off the A28 in St Michaels, for £2.1 million earlier this year.
The High Halden resident has budgeted a further £400,000 towards the “daunting” task of refurbishing the hotel - and says weddings will be back.
