PROVO, Utah – BYU was looking to ride the momentum of a 14-0 lead into the second period, but an injury to Jack Kelly put a damper on the first 15 minutes of action.

Kelly walked off the field and straight into the medical tent to be examined by the team doctors.

Minutes later, he exited with his left arm in a sling. ESPN reported Kelly will be reevaluated at halftime but is ‘unlikely’ to return.

Kelly had two tackles before leaving.

The other half of a dynamic linebacking duo with Isaiah Glasker, Kelly began the game with team-highs in tackles (19), 6.5 tackles for a loss, and four sacks.
